Kimmy Johnson - Senior Consultant
Kimmy Johnson has 29 years experience of working in mental health, she was a successful team leader in the NHS for numerous years. She has graduated with a law degree holding a special interest in Family Relationships, mediation and the law.
In 2006 Kimmy opened her own practice which has been very successful with huge support from the Church and the local community. She also opened Highams Park Counselling Centre and charity shop, to support the local community and those from further afield.
Kimmy has an eclectic background of study which she incorporates into various styles of therapy. She is a specialist in human behaviour and is a strong believer in talking strategies over medication. In her view medication should only be used as a last resort rather than a fix for every problem.
At present Kimmy and her assistant Gina meet and assess all referrals that come into the Practice. These can be GP referrals or self referrals; people are seen according to priority, with key workers being fast tracked due to the nature of their jobs.
Kimmy has an excellent relationship with numerous local GP's and is happy to work with your GP if you would like her to, the choice is yours, as is the decision and ultimately your life. Together any issues can be worked through.
Building trust and a respectful therapeutic relationship takes courage but can be achieved and if you work with her it will be.
Kimmy is not GMC registered. ztc
